Snowfall has hit Whistler early – so early, in fact, that the heli-skiing season has already begun! More exciting to us, though, is the après ski decadence that’s coming to Canada’s beloved resort town this November: Cornucopia. If you’ve never been to the festival, it’s a series of gourmet food and wine events, with enough seminars and dinners to forget about skiing (not that we’d ever do that).
The seminars are a lot more fun they sound, with topics like “Little Fish, Big Flavour” and “Don’t Judge a Grape by its Colour” – but it’s the after parties Cornucopia is most famous for. They go all out when night falls, with cabaret girls and cocktails around well into the morning. Our favourites are Absolut’s “Poured” party, where DJs know how to move a crowd and “An Evening of Scotch and Cigars,” which is exactly as good as it sounds.
